The many faces of Frankie

Frankie and Maisy
Many people have asked how Maisy's doing with Frankie. As you can see from the picture, they are friends. They will undoubtedly become Friends when Frankie starts eating solids and is willing to 'share' some of her Cheerios with Maisy. Maisy's love language is really quite simple - food. Maisy, thanks for not being jealous of the newest member of our pack!

Gammie visits
Frankie's Gammie was here for a whole week! It was great to have her help, and for Frankie and Gammie to get to know each other. A few shots from her visit:

Frankie's 1 month old!
I can't believe my little girl is already 1 month old today. Kristen and Nathanael came over today to celebrate, and Gammy and I made lemon cupcakes for her (although, let's be honest, they're really for us - Frankie can't eat them!). Daddy will undoubtedly want to play with her tonight on her new exercise mat.
Frankie is much more alert now, and enjoys periods of awake time between feedings and sleeping. She has been known to go up to 5 hours between feedings, but recently it's been more like 2-3. We're still working on the sleeping at night skill, but I think she's starting to smile - I've caught her twice today in what I think was a real smile. She can lift her head for surprisingly long periods of time, almost doing a mini push up. She loves her sling, swing, and sound machine.

Nonnie and Pawpaw come to visit
I've been meaning to post this for a week, but didn't get a chance to until today! My mom and dad came to visit Frankie recently, which was fantastic. My mom took excellent care of the three of us during the first 2 and a half weeks we were home from the hospital; I really don't think we would have made it without her. She cleaned, cooked, did laundry, changed Frankie, and gave her baths all with a cheerful servant's heart. Christopher's favorite part was that she ironed all of his shirts for work, earning the title "The iron maiden". Neither of us wanted her to leave!
Pawpaw loved to hold Frankie, take pictures, perform the "dip stick test" to see if her diaper needed changing, and even change that diaper when it was his turn! We miss you both, and can't wait to see you again soon!

Dr. Suessical: Mythical Myth, Legendary Legend, or Actually an Actuary?
It has long been debated whether Dr. Suessical from the hit musical, Dr. Suessical, is a myth, legend, or actuary, but recent evidence has led us to believe he is one man who is really all three.
Dr. Suessical is certainly a myth, as evidenced by the frightening green hair in the following stock photo:
It has recently been noted, however, that Dr. Suessical bears striking resemblance to this photo of Srtgt. Jasper, who is definitely a legend. Srgt. Jasper reportedly loves a whiskey sour in each fist, being the 11th wheel at weddings, and yelling "Get me another cookie!". The "My baby got yelled at by Srgt. Jasper" t-shirts were doing quite well for a time.
Recent evidence has confirmed that Dr. Suessical and Srgt. Jasper are indeed the same man, a man named Matt Michaud who is a happily married Actuary. What's an actuary? We heard it was something really boring involving numbers, taxes, and counting barns full of beans. This may explain his need to take on various identities as his professional life sounds a bit dreary.
