Summertime means fans

We don't have central air - pretty much no one here in Boston does. I guess when most of the houses were built before 1900, it just never makes sense to pay to put in central air for the few weeks out of the year when it would be nice. Many of us still have radiators or base-board heat, so this requires major duct work to get the ac vents installed.

But it's just a few weeks, and who are we kidding, we're all ready to sweat a little after the long months of winter we just had. Besides, there's a staunch New England pride about suffering through the weather, despite all the complaining!

So we make do with a combination of AC window-units, lots of open windows, and fans.

We've discovered that fans are really fun, as long as you don't stick your fingers in them. They make your voice go all video-gameish when you talk into them!
