We got a plant science experiment kit from the Dorchester Beach Day last summer, and I recently uncovered it in a bought of cleaning out the basement. Frankie helped me divide the soil equally between two pots, and we evenly divided the marigold seeds between the two pots. We put fertilizer in one, watered, and have been waiting to see what happens! As predicted by the box, the seeds with no fertilizer sprouted first, in a hurry to reproduce in the absense of enough food. The seeds with plenty of food took their time, and should be healthier overall. We count the seedlings, and check their height. It's been fun to grow something in the middle of an icy, snowy January!
Plants need water,
Sunlight,
and food to grow!
